Graduation Gifts They’ll Love

 In Blog

Graduation season is here. That means kids are leaving high school and going off to college. College kids are looking for jobs and finding their own places. And, of course, there are parties to celebrate these milestones.

graduation giftsIf you’re heading to a graduation party this year, you’ll probably need to bring a gift. Then starts the process of figuring out what great gift you can get the new graduate. If you’re in need of a present, check this list for things they’re sure to love!

Electronics

You can’t really go wrong with electronics of some sort. Computers and tablets are probably at the top of the list, but think about things like an Amazon Echo or a great pair of noise-canceling headphones (which may not exactly be “electronics” but is a sweet accessory).

Money, Money, Money

Cash is always good, and you’ll never have to worry about exchanges when you give the gift of money. Of course, it may seem a little cold and impersonal to give someone a card filled with cash. But, there are some amazingly creative ideas to make giving money fun!

Subscription Box

How about the gift that keeps on giving – a monthly subscription box. It could be a subscription to a meal service, snacks, makeup, wine, sweets and treats, bacon – there are all types of subscription boxes. Pick one you know your graduate will love!

Coffee Maker

Whether they’re graduating from high school or college, a good coffee maker is a necessity. For late night study sessions for the kid going off to university or coffee before early morning meetings for the graduate heading to work, caffeine will be appreciated.

Kindle

A Kindle makes a great gift for its ability to carry thousands of books all in a compact little device. Some college textbooks are even available for the Kindle!

A Vacation

Now, it doesn’t have to be an extravagant European vacation, but a weekend getaway would make for a great graduation gift. What a nice way to recharge before starting college or a new job!

Spa Time

Some pampering is always well-received. Massages and other spa treatments are great for providing some relaxation. And, if you’d like to spend some time with the graduate – make it a day for the both of you.

Gift Cards

Whether it’s a restaurant gift card or one for their favorite department store, gift cards are another gift that never needs to be exchanged.

Laptop Bag or Backpack

A great laptop bag or backpack is perfect for the graduate heading off to college or to work. If theft is a concern, look for anti-theft bags that have locks and material that is slash-resistant.

College Spirit Wear

Whether they are heading off to college or leaving their alma mater, college spirit wear is a great gift. Sweatshirts and t-shirts are great for the incoming college freshman, and things such as barware and umbrellas make great gifts for the new university graduate.

Cookbooks

Are you worried about your favorite graduate starving because they’re not very good in the kitchen? Then how about some cookbooks? Pick up a few cookbooks that will help them tackle the basics. There are lots of cookbooks that are perfect for beginners!

Do you have a special gift you give to graduates? What is it? This year when those graduation party invitations start coming in you’ll have some great ideas for presents.
